On June 2, 1976, the bombing of a car in downtown Phoenix sent a chill through the growing city and its journalists.
Arizona Republic reporter Don Bolles’ Datsun 710 was blown up in the middle of the day as he was going about his work.
We spoke with Bolles’ former colleague John Winters and Mark Horvit of Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc.
We also recalled The Arizona Project, when reporters from across the country came to Phoenix to finish Bolles’ work.
