Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey on Wednesday held a ceremonial bill signing for a new law making it easier for homeowners to rent out their places using services like Airbnb.
Ducey deflected criticism over potential concerns from neighbors, who might not want short-term rentals nearby.
This bill is part of an effort by the governor to move Arizona more into the so-called “sharing economy.” And, some of those companies are starting to take note.
Chris Lehane, Airbnb’s head of global policy and communication, was in Phoenix for the signing ceremony.
