University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The first Copa America Centenario match played in Glendale resulted in Mexico defeating Uruguay, 3-1.

But a mix-up before the match may have created the most chatter. Like any other sporting event, the announcer asked the crowd to remain standing for the Uruguayan national anthem. When the music played, it was Chile’s National Anthem, not Uruguay’s. Copa America apologized for the mixup they called human error about 30 minutes into the match.

Mexico took an early lead and stayed that way until late in the second half when Uruguay tied the match. But in the 85th minute, Mexico took the lead back for good. An insurance goal in stoppage time made it a 3-1 final.

Organizers predicted a sellout, but fell a few thousand tickets short as announced attendance was about 60,000.
