The University of Arizona will be looking for a new president.
The Arizona Board of Regents announced Friday that UA President Ann Weaver Hart provided her notice.
In a statement, they said Hart informed them she did not wish to seek an extension to her current contract.
In her statement to the Board, Hart said she looks forward to “returning as a full-time faculty, teacher, scholar and citizen of the University.”
Hart’s contract is through June 2017.
The Board of Regents said will it conduct a nationwide search for Hart's replacement.
