If you’re looking for artists, musicians, chefs or any other talented creative people, the Valley’s become a pretty good haven for them. Every couple of years, Phoenix New Times unveils a list of the 100 Creatives. The countdown will continue until the publication has its Best of the Valley edition in September.

"The goal really is to just put a spotlight on people doing fascinating, creative things in the Valley that we might not have known about, that our readers might not have known about, but that we wholeheartedly endorse," said Becky Bartkowski, the New Times’ culture editor.

What is a creative?

"I perceive creativity as someone bringing their unique self to whatever the activity or the medium or what have you is,"  Bartkowski said.

Listen for interviews with some of those creatives in the weeks ahead on The Show.
