A helicopter flies toward the Tenderfoot Fire, which has now burned 4,040 acres. Currently, 420 fire personnel are working the fire.

All evacuations have been lifted for the Tenderfoot Fire, still burning near Yarnell. The blaze is an estimated 4,080 acres and 40 percent contained, with low growth potential.

Cooler temperatures and high humidity have helped firefighters get better control of the Tenderfoot Fire. It began Wednesday in Yarnell and burned three outbuildings before crews were able to move it away from the community. At the height of the fire, the area’s main highway was closed for two days and hundreds of people were evacuated.

Many of the evacuees lost their homes in a deadly wildfire in the same area three years ago, and some had just recently rebuilt. The Yarnell Hill Fire destroyed 130 buildings and killed 19 firefighters in 2013.
