The makers of the newest "Transformers" action movie have decided to spend a couple more days shooting on the Loop 303.

State transportation officials have extended a partial closure of the freeway between Interstate 17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway through 3 a.m. Saturday.

A Paramount Pictures crew has been in the Valley for about a week to film “Transformers 5: The Last Knight."

To access the Loop 303 from the I-17, drivers should detour West on State Route 74 and south on Lake Pleasant Parkway. To reach the I-17 from the Loop 303, exit at Lake Pleasant Parkway and go north, then head east on State Route 74.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said it regularly issues permits to film in the highway right-of-ways. To get a permit, movie makers have to accept all legal liability and financial responsibility. They agree to leave the highway in as good a condition as it was before to filming, as well as cover any repair or restoration costs. The production has to also pay for traffic control, including law enforcement.
