The Challenges of Lowering Arizona's Income Tax

When Gov. Doug Ducey campaigned for the state’s top elected position, he said he wanted to reduce Arizona’s income tax to as close to zero as possible. Making that happen has proven difficult. Corporate and personal income taxes make up 45 - 50 percent of Arizona's general fund revenue

"If you're going to make significant cuts there, you have to figure out where that revenue's going to go, either through other tax revenue going up or spending going down," said Jeremy Duda, who reports for the Arizona Capitol Times. "So far we haven't really seen where that is."
