The state of Arizona has worked to be competitive in the biosciences and biotechnology sectors for more than a decade. Now the city of Tempe has decided it wants to follow the Arizona Biosciences Roadmap strategic plan.
As part of that, the city is considering four proposals to develop land adjacent to the Tempe Center for the Arts. Those 20 acres would be the home of the biosciences campus.
"We hope, as a region, we attract biomedical and technology because what's good for us is good for Phoenix, but it's good for Arizona," said Donna Kennedy, Tempe’s economic development director.
