The National Weather Service has been tracking monsoon rainfall — the rainy season generally defined as between June 15 and Sept. 30 — since before the turn of the 20th century.

We've compiled 117 years of that data for Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma into one chart. Highlights include:

1984 was a very rainy year.

If you like precipitation, spend your summers in Flagstaff.

In Yuma, there were four seasons with so little rain, it couldn't even be measured.
