When Lawless Denim opened in downtown Phoenix nearly three years ago, it was touted as Arizona’s first denim manufacturer.
Customers could order handmade, custom fitted jeans and other clothing items, but Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said Lawless Denim failed to deliver on some pre-ordered jeans and then failed to provide refunds.
The Attorney General's Office said as part of a settlement, company owner James Roman Acevedo admitted violating the state’s consumer fraud act and agreed to pay customers up to $20,000.
Lawless Denim no longer has a downtown shop and its website is no longer active.
Customers who want to submit a complaint must provide supporting documentation containing a Lawless Denim or LD & Co. receipt, invoice or order confirmation showing the amount paid. Complaints and documentation must be submitted to the Attorney General’s Office by September 5, 2016.
