Mormon, Hispanic Population Could Boost Hillary Clinton's Chances In Arizona

The typical Electoral College map may get upended this November, as Donald Trump’s expected presence at the top of the Republican ticket has analysts wondering what’s to come. Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton may win states that usually favor Republicans—including Arizona.

The state has only favored the Democratic candidate twice, Bill Clinton in 1996 and Harry S. Truman in 1948.

Why could this year be different?

In short, Arizona's growing Hispanic population and sizeable Mormon population, says Harry Enten, a senior political writer and analyst at the website FiveThirtyEight.
