The Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the FBI arrested a man for allegedly conspiring to commit acts of terrorism on federal buildings in the Phoenix and Tucson areas.
Mahin Khan, who recently turned 18, was arrested Friday in Tucson. He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on two counts: conspiracy to commit terrorism and terrorism. Khan had his first appearance before a judge Saturday morning. He is being held without bond.
Not much more information is available because Khan’s court records are currently sealed. A spokesperson for the attorney general’s office said the office is are not aware of any threats Khan made that involve the 4th of July holiday weekend.
