An Arizona man arrested for allegedly conspiring to commit acts of terrorism in Phoenix and Tucson has been officially indicted by the state.
Attorney General Mark Brnovich released a statement saying the State Grand Jury indicted Mahin Khan, 18, charging him with terrorism; conspiracy to commit terrorism; and conspiracy to commit misconduct involving weapons.
The charges stem from an investigation into Khan’s alleged repeated communication with an individual he believed to be a fighter with ISIS to obtain weapons, including pipe bombs or pressure cooker bombs.
In a heavily redacted document released by Arizona Superior Court, the FBI says Khan wanted weapons to kill Marines and Jews at locations in Phoenix and Tucson.
He’s being held without bond in Phoenix. His next court date is July 12.
