Online Tool To Help Veterans Transfer Military Skill To Civilian Jobs

Arizona veterans will soon have a new way to look for work in the civilian world. The Arizona Coalition for Military Families plans to launch a new online portal in the next few weeks, to help connect veterans with jobs.

The portal will help translate skills veterans learned in the military to applicable jobs in the civilian world. For example, someone who served in the infantry may have skills in leadership and a strong work ethic.

The portal is a tool, like a job fair, that can help employ veterans, said Nicola Winkel with the coalition.

"I think what the technology does is it allows us to be much more targeted and specific," Winkel said.
