In recent years, Arizona lawmakers and governors have become known for cutting taxes, but those taxes have been of the income and business variety. When it comes to sales tax, the state, when combined with cities, has one of the higher average rates in the country.
A recent report by the Washington, D.C.-based Tax Foundation puts Arizona at number 11.
