A Pinal County man accused of sexually assaulting 13 high school classmates is now eligible for bond. Tyler Kost was arrested more than two years ago.
A Pinal County Superior Court judge ruled Friday that Kost, now 20 years old, could be released pending trial on a $100,000 bond. The Casa Grande Dispatch reports Kost’s defense attorney presented new evidence in the case. He said a Pinal County Sheriff’s detective did not follow department protocol when interviewing the underage victims.
That detective was ultimately terminated. Kost was arrested in May 2014 and has been held at the Pinal County Jail since. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeau has called him a “serial rapist.” The defense has maintained the girls are involved in a conspiracy to frame Kost.
