What Monsoon Season? Phoenix Expected To Go Beyond 18 Day Average Of 110-Plus Degree Heat

At least it's a dry heat. With temperatures expected to remain above the 110 mark for the next few days, the Valley is on its way to moving past average when it comes to the number of really hot days.

Bianca Hernandez is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “As of yesterday we reached the 18th day that we’ve seen 110 degrees this monsoon season, this summer. And the average is 18," she said. "So we’re right on average, but for the next week we're expecting temperatures to still remain above 110 degrees.”

Hernandez says the record is 33 days set in 2011. Last year, there were 20.
