Last December, Camelview movie theatres in Scottsdale closed and the films associated with the independent film-focused locale were moved to a new cinema nearby at Fashion Square.
Fans were initially concerned about where their favorite films would go, but they also worried about the structures, including the iconic metallic mushrooms that had been in front of the building for decades.
Now those mushrooms are on the move to Harkins’ corporate office a couple of miles away.
We spoke with architectural writer and critic Walt Lockley about the new life (and new paint job) for the mushrooms.
