Budget Cuts May Force Geologists To Stop Mapping Arizona's Fissures

(Screen capture from the AZGS Natural Hazards map)
Mapped earth fissures west of San Tan Valley and south of Queen Creek.

The Arizona Geological Survey officially moved in with the University of Arizona, as of July 1. That move also comes with a loss of funding, meaning the survey has to find grants and contracts and implement fees for its services.
