Dennis Green, Former Arizona Cardinals Head Coach, Dies At 67

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green has died.

Green was known for his fiery candor during his three years at the helm of Arizona's NFL team.

Green's rant after his Cardinals blew a 20-nothing lead and fell to the Chicago Bears in 2006— in which he screamed "They are who they thought they were...We let them off the hook!"— became famous. It also marked the last season of a failed run for Green as Cards coach.

However, he was later credited for putting together a roster that made the Super Bowl two seasons later.

Green was one of the NFL’s first African-American head coaches and also one of its winningest during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings in the 1990s.

He died Thursday night of cardiac arrest at age 67.
