A new medical marijuana growing facility will be built in Prescott Valley. The town council approved a final development plan to allow up to 40,000 square feet of greenhouse facility to be built immediately. Community Development Director Richard Parker said the person who applied for the new facility is a grower relocating from Phoenix.
“He has, in his words, reached the limits of his ability to service the need and he needed a greater facility in terms of size and he chose Prescott Valley,” Parker said.
This will be the town’s second medical marijuana growing facility. Parker said if the initiative to legalize recreational marijuana passes in November, the applicant expressed interest in expanding his Prescott Valley operations.
Nearby Chino Valley has similar marijuana growing facilities.
