Rain falls on Interstate 10 near Broadway Road on Jan. 5, 2016.

The state transportation department says it plans to widen two of the three stretches of I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson that are still two lanes.

They’ll be widened to three lanes in each direction by 2020, reported the Phoenix Business Journal.  The work will be done with a combination of state and federal money.

The widening is good news for Tony Bradley, he’s the president and CEO of the Arizona Trucking Association.
