Is The DNC Email Controversy Part Of A Conspiracy Comeback?

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz is on her way out—thanks, at least in part, to an email controversy that found her and others putting their support behind Hillary Clinton and criticizing Bernie Sanders.

How did Wikileaks get the DNC info? One theory posits that it came from Russia. But is it just a conspiracy and are they more prevalent these days?

The Show talked with Al Tompkins of the Poynter Institute, a journalism organization, about how government and political conspiracies seem to have made a comeback.

"It's been a long time since we had some really juicy conspiracies," Tompkins said. "It could be that one reason that conspiracies take off so fast is they move so plausibly across the globe now."
