Phoenix Vice Mayor Kate Gallego represents District 8.

The Democratic Convention comes to a close tonight in Philadelphia after Hillary Clinton accepts her party’s nomination for president.

Arizona Delegate Kate Gallego— the vice mayor of Phoenix who represents District 8 on City Council— says it has been special to be at the convention as Clinton becomes the first woman ever to be nominated for president by a major party.

Gallego says she expects great things from Clinton’s speech tonight: “I hope she’ll talk about her experience, how she got where she is and why she has decided to step up and take this roll as our party’s leader; what her vision is for the country. It’s going to be a very inspiring night.”

This is Gallego’s third convention and she says this one has been her favorite.
