In June, University of Arizona President Ann Weaver Hart announced she wouldn’t be asking for a contract extension from the university.
Hart was the subject of controversy for joining the board of for-profit DeVry University while maintaining her leadership role at U of A.
Now the Arizona Board of Regents has taken a big step in moving forward to find Hart’s successor by announcing the chair of its search committee and issuing a request for proposals for an executive search consultant.
Regent Bill Ridenour will be the committee’s chair.
We spoke with him about what qualities the next president should have and how many candidates there may be.
"We're looking for someone who is innovative as to their leadership," Ridenour said. The board would also like to find a leader with knowledge of medical schools.
