Arizona is doing well in four policy areas in the fight against cancer. That’s according to a new report from the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.
The annual study also finds Arizona making some progress in three areas, and falling short in three others.
Brian Hummell, Arizona director of government relations for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, breaks down the report.
"Well, we have room for improvement," Hummell said. "We have made some really strong successes that have impacted literally tens of thousands of lives in Arizona for the better."
Among the successes, he said, increased access to Medicaid and cancer drugs, and a tobacco tax above the national average.
