The former ICAN building site is a little more than half an acre on the southeast corner of Washington and Chicago Streets.

Chandler is looking for proposals to turn a vacant building downtown into a vibrant part of the area; city officials are hosting a site tour on Monday morning, and proposals are due next month.

The former ICAN building site is a little more than half an acre on the southeast corner of Washington and Chicago Streets.

"We think that this is a great redevelopment opportunity to really bridge our historic core further down south and start creating a larger footprint for our downtown," said Kim Moyers, Chandler’s downtown redevelopment manager

She said the two 3,000 square foot buildings and adjacent green space could be a great spot for restaurants, but other ideas are welcome.

The site tour is 9 a.m. Monday, August 15 at Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave.
