Friday Deadline To Request Early Ballot For Arizona Primary

A 2016 Maricopa County primary election ballot.

If you haven’t requested an early ballot, you have until Friday to do so in Maricopa County.

Elizabeth Bartholomew is with the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office. She says her agency has mailed more than a million early ballots— "Of that number, there’s about 400,000 that were Independents and we’ve only received about 62,000 request from Independent voters."

Batholomew says Independents have to let the county recorder’s office know which party ballot they want. She also wants them to know that, despite what happened during the March Presidential Preference Election, Independents can vote in upcoming primary and general elections.
