US Senate Bill Would Stop Export Of Native American Artifacts

A bill pending in the U.S. Senate would curtail the exporting and sale of items sacred to Native American tribes. This has been an issue, with some items going to auction in France.

The Safeguard Tribal Objects of Patrimony, or STOP Act, would increase penalties under an existing law that aims to get items back to the tribes to whom they belong.
