Starting today, the City of Tempe will begin accepting applications for its Section 8 Housing program Thursday, Sept. 1 at noon.
Low income families and individuals will be placed on the waitlist until a housing voucher becomes available. The last time Tempe’s housing authority opened the waitlist was over a year ago.
A Tempe spokesperson says applicants who make the waitlist could find help in a matter of months. The application window is two weeks.
