A city subcommittee has approved a pilot program for two valet companies to operate at Terminal 4 at Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport.
Scottsdale-based Epic Valet would offer service by reservation only. You would pull up to a designated area along the curb, hand your key to the valet who would park your car at an off- site location that’s supposed to be no more than five minutes away.
The other company, Texas-based Freedom Park, would accept, but not require reservations. You would pull into the Terminal 4 Parking Garage where a valet would take your car.
Deputy City Manager Paul Blue said the company would get 200 spaces in the garage.
“That’s all the room we’re going to have, that’s all the room we’re going to give because we really need to reserve that for the private occupant vehicle who comes up, wants to pull a ticket and wants to go park their car themselves,” Blue said.
Other cars would be parked off-site where washes and oil changes might be offered, services the company already provides at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
A Sky Harbor spokeswoman said valet prices have not yet been set. The full council must still approve the two-year contracts.
