The U.S. has seen extensive arguments in recent months and years in courtrooms and communities related to whether people of the same gender can legally marry and which public restroom a person is permitted to use.
Even as the conversations become more prevalent and more Americans know gay, lesbian and transgender people, the discussions and arguments over the issues continue.
ASU’s Origins Projectwill consider those topics in its latest debate, "Political Bodies: Sex, Gender and Reproductive Rights."
We spoke with Origins Project founder Lawrence Krauss and two of the panelists: Phyllis Randolph Frye, who is known as the “grandmother" of the national transgender legal and political movement, and professor, author and LGBT advocate Jennifer Finney Boylan.
"Political Bodies: Sex, Gender and Reproductive Rights" is Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre, 203 W. Adams St. in Phoenix. It will also be live streamed online.
