Colorado City in July 2009.

One year ago, three women and nine children were killed by flash floods in Hildale, Utah, the town that borders Colorado City, Arizona and is part of the collective community known as Short Creek.

One young boy who went missing in those floods still has not been found. Tomorrow there will be a community memorial in Colorado City to remember those who died.

KJZZ’s Sarah Ventre spoke with Shirlee Draper, a community organizer of the Short Creek Community Alliance.
