An Arizona lawmaker accused of food stamp fraud has reached a plea agreement to end the criminal case against her.

Rep. Ceci Velasquez was accused of obtaining more than $1,700 in food stamp benefits between November 2013 and January 2015. Her attorney Roy Herrera would not get into the specifics of her deal.

"But at this point, all we’re really prepared to say it’s going to be pleading to a misdemeanor if you remember the indictment was a three count indictment for three felonies, so this will not result in any felony it will be to a misdemeanor," her attorney said.

The Litchfield Park Democrat is serving her first term in the Arizona House and does not plan to seek re-election. Velasquez is set to enter her plea on Oct. 25.
