The public will get a chance to see updated design plans for the South Mountain freeway starting this week.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is hosting two meetings. The first will be Tuesday evening at Desert Vista High School in Ahwatukee. On Wednesday, another will be held at Betty Fairfax High school in Laveen.

Information  will be provided about the freeway’s location, profile, interchanges and noise barriers.

Construction on the initial phase of the South Mountain Freeway began last week.
