Thousands Of Arizona Ballot Pamphlets Contain Errors

Arizona election officials report thousands of ballot pamphlets could be incomplete or contain errors.

Trend Offset printing company, the vendor used by the state, believes 14,000 pamphlets are corrupted in some way. Problems vary from missing pages to ones with a mix of English and Spanish.

So far, only voters who live in southern Arizona appear to be affected.

According to Secretary of State Michele Reagan’s office, it’s still difficult to say whether 14,000 is the exact number, so the company is re-printing 68,000 of them.

Reagan spokesperson Matt Roberts said they could still decide to reprint all 1.9 million ballots if necessary, but that they are still investigating the full scope of the printing issues.

The publicity pamphlets provide pro and con arguments for the ballot measures, polling information and evaluations of judicial candidates, among other things.

This isn’t the first time Reagan has run into problems with the pamphlets. Earlier this year, she was hammered after hundreds of thousands of voters did not receive their pamphlets far enough in advance of May’s special election.
