Scottsdale-based GoDaddy has fired its international marketing agency after less than a year — on the same day it hit an international growth milestone.
Web hosting company GoDaddy hired TBWA/Chiat/Day last November, after company executives decided to focus more on international growth.
At the time, GoDaddy ended its longtime sponsorship of NASCAR and driver Danica Patrick and pulled an online Super Bowl ad following some backlash. The ad agency was supposed to help grow the customer base internationally, according to the then chief marketing officer. He resigned in June and the ad contract has been terminated.
This comes as GoDaddy international reports its one-millionth domain name registered in the United Kingdom and double-digit growth in the international market.
