A new plan for managing Glen Canyon Dam and the ecosystems downstream from it is a step closer to reality.

The U.S. Interior Department has released its final environmental impact statement for the dam’s Adaptive Management Plan.

Final approval could come next month and implementation could start next year. With KJZZ's The Show to explain are Katrina Grantz, chief of the adaptive management group for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Rob Billerbeck, the National Park Service’s Colorado River coordinator.
