Can A High Five Improve How We Relate?

What's in a high five?

High-fives, fist bumps and handshakes can all be ways to acknowledge a friend or colleague’s ‘job well done’ or can simply be used as a friendly greeting.

But do they actually improve how we work together or relate to each other?

The Phoenix Suns, under Head Coach Earl Watson, are becoming the first professional sports team to keep track of high fives, fist bumps and the like as part of a theory that winning teams do more of all of those things.

Yale Assistant Professor Michael Kraus actually looked into the topic with colleagues.
