District officials say two Glendale Elementary School District campuses will reopen Monday after weeks of emergency repairs.
Safety concerns forced the closure of the Challenger and Landmark schools in September when engineers uncovered structural problems in every building on both campuses.
Arizona officials approved about $2.5 million to build supporting walls to secure areas where steel reinforcements and masonry had decayed. District officials expect the projects to come in slightly under budget.
Challenger students have attended class at an unused campus in the Alhambra Elementary School District. But students from Landmark were sent to another campus in the Glendale district where they have been on a half-day schedule.
