The Ellis-Shackelford House, now home to Arizona Humanities, was once part of a street nicknamed "Millionaire's Row."

Call them what you like — ghosts, spirits, haunts, phantoms — October is the time to share their stories. There are the classic scary stories we share over the campfire, and the surreal stories we share about our own encounters. This month we’re talking with people about how they connect to these stories.

Marshall Shore is a Phoenix resident and self-described hip historian of Arizona.

Each October, Shore takes people on a tour through places where Phoenix ghosts may be found to make history come alive.
