Phoenix, Tempe, Tucson Rate Well on LGBTQ Equality Index

A national report on how cities treat members of the LGBTQ community was released on Monday. It’s the Municipal Equality Index put together by the Human Rights Campaign.

Three Arizona cities — Phoenix, Tempe and Tucson — did especially well. Peoria, Gilbert and Avondale scored poorly.

We learned more about the index from Xavier Persad, legislative counsel for the Human Rights Campaign.
