While Republican nominee Donald Trump continues to assert that the presidential election will be rigged, Arizona’s chief elections official said it simply isn’t possible here.

Secretary of State Michele Reagan said safeguards are in place to ensure ballot integrity, even against hackers from the outside.

“When you hear that these tabulation machines can be accessed by the internet, that somebody sitting outside those polling locations can hack into those machines, that is absolute falsehood because those machines aren’t hooked up to the internet,” Reagan said.

Reagan said a paper trail also exists to account for every vote cast in Arizona and they’ve taken steps to protect voter privacy by changing the color of the voting envelopes to make them harder to see through.
