Investigators Seach For Person Of Interest In Gilbert Fire

It took 150 firefighters to put out an apartment fire in Gilbert on Saturday night. Investigators are now looking for a person of interest who was seen near the complex.

Witnesses described the person as a white male between the ages of 16 and 22 with shaggy hair and wearing an Arizona State University hoodie and black shorts, said Gary Hildebrandt, a fire captain with the Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department.

"We’re just investigating all leads at this point in time. So it’s still an active investigation. Matter of fact, we have our fire investigators, along with the assistance of ATF actually at the scene right now and they’re still investigating," said Hildebrandt.

Hildebrandt said the fire destroyed three buildings that were under construction. No injuries were reported.
