Arizona’s congressional contingent is weighing in on the latest email scandal embroiling Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
State Democrats believe the move is purely political, while Republicans feel it’s about time.
Phoenix U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego is a Democrat supporting Clinton.
He said he feels Republicans are desperate to find dirt on his candidate because they can’t defend their nominee.
“The only reason this continues is because Republicans know that Donald Trump is the worst candidate in the history of the United States and is going to cost them the election, possibly the House," Gallego said.
But Republican U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar, who represents northern and western parts of the state, said he believes this latest email flap proves Clinton is highly unethical.
“How can you vote for a criminal? I’ve said this over and over again," Gosar said. "How can you vote for a criminal? You look at the email scandal, you look at Benghazi, you look at her state department run.”
Both sides do call on FBI Director James Comey for a quick release of information regarding contents of the newly discovered emails.
