Photographer Goes From Streets Of NYC To Desert Trails Of Tucson

(Photo by Paul Atkinson - KJZZ)

When you think of “street photography,” scenes from New York City or London might come to mind. Dusty desert trails? Not so much.

But Serge Levy is trying to change that perception.

The New York native came to Arizona to go to University of Arizona and found dense urban streets were not the only place to take street photos.

Levy will be giving a talk at the Phoenix Art Museum tomorrow night about his transition from doing street photography in New York City to Arizona. Levy answers what he thinks is the definition of “street photography."

Serge Levy is an artist, photographer and teacher based in Tucson.
