Phoenix Approves Ordinance Giving More Time To Save Historic Buildings

The Phoenix City Council has approved a new ordinance aimed at preserving historic buildings from demolition; a key component extends the amount of time between getting a demolition permit and wrecking balls hitting those buildings.

The city estimates up to 300 demolition permit requests could be affected each year.

We speak about the new ordinance with Jim McPherson, president of the Arizona Preservation Foundation.
