CDC Report Describes Adverse Childhood Experiences, Effects

Almost two-thirds of Arizonans have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience, or ACE.

The events are traumatic, and the effects can emerge decades later. A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also describes the ACE numbers as similar to a cholesterol score for childhood trauma.
