Updated Report On Arizona Payroll Numbers

New numbers are out for Arizona, and these don’t have anything to do with election polling. Updated payroll numbers for the Phoenix-metro area were released this week.

Total annual payroll for private industry workers increased 2.8 percent for the metro area of Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, according to the latest report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It’s measured for the year from September 2015 to September 2016. The previous year saw a 2.5 percent increase.

The data is part of The Employment Cost Index, a measure of changes in compensation costs, like wages, salaries and benefits. The Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area is outpacing the national average.
